How-to: Use the Search Bar in Discovery

The CreatorIQ Discovery tool has over a million creators for you to find and explore. While you might think the more options the better, it can be a bit daunting trying to get started or making sure you are using the correct filters. In this article, we'll focus on the Search bar and the option available to you within it to help refine your search results.

This Search bar is your recommended starting point. After starting the initial search, you can always narrow down your results with the filters.

Our default discovery search is ALL and it allows you to search by the type of content in the creator’s post or around their interests, bio, name, or account handle.

For example, to find creators that have anything to do with "pets", simply type Pets into the search bar. As you can see it applied one filter and we get about 114K results.

We definitely recommend starting here to give yourself the widest set of results based on a specific topic.  At this point, you can now refine your search using the Content or Creator search filter, or the Advanced Filters options.

Content

• If I switch to showing just content with tennis, my search results number goes up dramatically, since this is now pulling in creators and posts that potentially referenced tennis in a post caption or image.
• This search not only looks for keywords but also uses our Visual Insights technology that detects thousands of tags in image-based content
• Additionally, you can use boolean searches here as well to identify more targeted results.
  • So if I add AND TRAVEL to my original pets search, this will show me everyone who used both of those phrases in a post.

Creator

• Name: if you want to search specifically for keywords in a creator's name, this is the search to use. Yoga is a good one to highlight but also think of identifying characteristics – like MUA for makeup artist as an example.
• Bio: Bio search is a great place to get pretty creative.  Think about what people usually put in their bios - it’s what they want to promote and shout from the rooftops.
  Attributes like “model” “athlete” or “dog mom”.  You can put identifying words in here and it will pick up the keywords found within their platform bios - across all major platforms.
  • Ex. Yogi
  • Note: you can do boolean searches here too! So yogi AND personal trainer
• Once you have your creative searches set, you’ll probably want to nail down some of the other criteria provided, like the audience, locations, and more. To do so, you’ll want to use our filters.
